One of the world's oldest and most well known spices, you'll know black pepper by its role in most cuisines. However, organic black pepper is also valuable for its medicinal properties, and is widely used for its ability to enhance the bioavailability of other herbs.

Black pepper's most active constituent, Piperine, has been found to support the absorption of other herbs, such as the Curcumins found in tumeric. Hence it is common to find black pepper included in beverages or tonics that include tumeric, supporting the overall effectiveness.

 In itself, black pepper also helps to ease discomfort in the gastrointestinal tract.
