Also known as 'red bush tea', Rooibos has a full-bodied, subtly sweet and earthy flavour profile. It is most well known for its high levels of antioxidants, helping to protect cells from free radical damage and reduce inflammation. 

It is especially rich in the flavonoid aspalathin, which has established blood glucose lowering properties, and works in conjunction with other flavonoids to protect the nervous system and reduce cortisol levels. 

Its antispasmodic actions also make it useful in relieving digestive discomfort, in the case of cramps, stomach pains and the like.
